Testimonials
Dear Jane, and The Del Monte Staff,
Besides year-around kind professional care from each of you, the wrap-around holiday decorations outside and indoors—mother was wrapped around in the cozy comfort of a new gown, You each go way beyond the usual. It doesn’t go unappreciated. May the New Year bring to you the comfort and happiness you share continually with the residents. With thanks for your thoughtfulness on behalf of mother and from ourselves as well,
--Mary and Bob Winglib
Dear Jane,
We cannot thank you and your staff enough for all the extra efforts you made for my mom. She enjoyed every day at Del Monte and when her needs became greater, you and everyone on your staff met those needs with care and compassion. We will happily recommend The Del Monte any chance we get. Thank you for your care for her-and for us!
-- Fred, Phyllis and David
Dear Jane,
For every challenging moment, each consideration, all necessary adjustments, and the kindness of compassion in your heart, I thank you. Your staff will be acknowledged in a separate note. The passing of my brother is a mixed experience of emotions for my mother. I know her needs and care will continue to be met at The Del Monte.
-- Gratefully, Barbara (Holly)
Dear Jane,
How can we thank you for your years of hands-on caring? So much of your time was consumed with medical visits, the most complicated pharmaceutical juggling and even sharing your time off. Over the years you also put into place the most wonderful staff of caretakers, an incredible accomplishment. You will always be in our hearts.
With gratitude,
-- Alina, R&R and Andrea
Dear Jane,
I wanted to thank you and your staff for the wonderful care that was given to my mom Naomi in the 2 years that she lived at The Del Monte. Your staff treated her with care, kindness and respect. Betty was always supportive and caring while overseeing her care, as was Julia. Daisy and Essie (and others) treated mom as they would their own grandmothers. I am extremely grateful to all the staff including Pam & Norma and others whose names I have forgotten. I just wanted you to know how special your staff is and how sensitive and supportive they were to me and my mom in her final days.
With appreciation,
-- Carol
Dear Jane,
I agree with you—there is no more powerful advertising than word of mouth, than the testimonial of a very satisfied "customer". I am one such "customer" (actually that word seems a little cold for the occasion but you know what I mean..) I am so satisfied-because of your efficient and compassionate management and because the staff at The Del Monte, (as I have noticed from the first day…to this day) is as capable, kind, and hard-working as they are. This allows my mother to live with dignity and brings me peace of mind—for all of this I am grateful beyond words. Once again, thank you. I will continue to recommend The Del Monte with conviction.
Regards,
-- J. Dong
Dear Jane, and all of The Del Monte Staff,
Thank you for your wonderful love and caring for my father, Judson Stull. Your special care and the loveliness of The Del Monte made his days more lovely than could have been imagined. Your care for him, in so many ways, gave him such peace, and gave my mom much respect and support as well. You all meant so much to them both! We so gratefully send our love and thanks to you!

Dear Jane, and all of The Del Monte Staff,
I just wanted to express to you and your staff a heart-felt thank you for taking such good care of both my mother and my grandmother. Both Mom and Grandma have shared with me all the people that looked after them…Samaria, Mae, Daisy, Pam, Esther, Diane, Jackie, Norma, Betty, Carmen, Julia, Cecilia, Lora, and of course, you. Please extend my thanks to all your staff for such loving care, and let them know that both my Mother and now my Grandmother as well as myself appreciate them so very much.

Credit Where it’s Due
(A response to an article published in The Herald)
Having read your report on nursing homes in Monterey County, (The Herald, Aug. 5) I applaud The Herald for exposing bad conditions. However, in all fairness, you should give credit where credit is due. With a loved one in nursing home for three years, I have nothing but good to say for The Del Monte Assisted Residential Home, David Avenue, Pacific Grove. The director has charisma—that rare quality which one looks for in a director. The aides are kind and efficient. Several of these have been with the home for many years. The home was established in 1950. So my advice is this: If you have to seek nursing home care-visit the home. Talk to local doctors. My doctor said: "I think you have made a wise choice."
